A few years ago, I looked at the window of the past. When it comes to me, the window of past is not looking through mind but expressing what are seen from the eyes.
I, looking at the window of the past, meant myself looking at a strange window. The work to accept and discharge strange culture through the window, was shown with the background of show window.
New curiosity seen through the crevices of narrow alleys and small windows made strangeness familiar, and was hoping meaning and symbol would be united as they slided near.
The window of this 'Look at Window' is another expression to look into strange culture. Strange window is not national or cultural difference but personal varieties, it shows.
What is the window in our times? They are windows in the gray city that are hidden but seen through steel frames and glasses of huge buildings. The city which has been found out and shyly looked at through a small window is now disappearing.
The most frequently-looked windows of us are black pads such as monitor, smart phone and note book. The whole world opens when we turned them ON. Suddenly innumerous colors of the world gather at the black window. People are image-communicating while looking for their own information needed.
Current window begins not from white but from black. Canvas becomes a black channel to find out my desirable colors one by one out of the crowded ones. Among lots of stories and shapes gathered there, I present my own imaginative image in colors. People read the presented image through their own memories and experiences. I hope them read through the window of mind.
As I look at the world from a new point of view being captivated by color senses while making color groups, I come to look at another window. In addition to figurative art and visual art, another inspiring thing is color.
The power of color is infinitive. That is because it is somewhat sensitive.Acupoints of human body can be expressed in colors.They are invisible with our eyes but can be expressed in colors getting aid of electromagnetism.
Color has various aspects such as physical, biological, chemical and psychological ones.The most exciting one out of those aspects of colors is physical element.Color mentality is applied for many indirect elements such as culture, environment, life style, history and tradition, stimulating human's five senses.
This artist's coloring feels flat but tells lots of imagination.Each unit looks like a piece or a fragment, but this is either our unique mind or the world where we live in.Like this, color begins from the power to look at the minds.
Material for the work is pigment.They are raw material of colors generated through creation and change of various natural phenomena.I've tried to obtain scientific and chemical effects by making and controling colors with those pigments.The process not to use existing paints but to make my own colors maximizes the sensual touch.
Then I've thought about the principle and base.What would be the most frequently looked at by contemporary people even though it is design or marketing?Where do they find out the way to shop, share culture and advertise themselves?Colors of LookatWindow tried to express looking at the current world through the window of colors.What is the most looked-at and favored window of contemporary people who pursue homogeneity? The most frequently looked-at windows of contemporary cultural people are black monitor, smart phone and various digital pads and their stories begin as they open. The reason why my work begin from black is the same.I tried to give mental change and warmth to a corner of dark mind by reflecting bright light but it also says that the entrance to the world of contemporary people originates from black pad.
Black is a whole aggregate of colors.It is filled with colors like all the colors finally make black.Out of this fullness, I start to pull out colors as if I pulled out a thread piece by piece so that I could host a feast of colors. And urban at the same time.Then the sound running through silence from deep down the heart says that there is another world.
