Go Suga
 GoSuga(고슈가 1980.) 는 호주에 거주하는 일본계 아티스트이다. 어릴 적 호주로 건너가, 골드코스트에 살고 있는 작가는 TAFE대학교 골드코스트 아쉬모어 캠퍼스 시각디자인 학사 졸업을 하고 작업 활동을 하고 있다. 호주 골드코스트는 전 세계 여행객과 호주 현지인 모두 휴식과 여가를 위해 즐겨찾는 황금빛 해변의 휴양도시로 작가의 작품은 자신이 살고 있는 주변 자연과 환경, 인물에 대해 많은 이야기를 하고 있다. 서핑을 즐기며, 아름다운 해변과 태양은 고슈가에게 꼭 필요한 소재가 되었으며, 작가는 이러한 환경을 밝은 구성과 어두운 구성으로 나뉘어 시리즈를 작업하고 있다.
작가는 Gold Coast Cultural Precinct Design Competition 수상을 시작으로 Moreton Bay Region Art Awards, Strathpine Community Centre 수상, Clayton Utz Art Awards 수상 등 많은 벽화, 디자인 수상을 하였다. 호주, 뉴욕, 베를린에서 개인전과 그룹전을 하였으며, 아시아 및 한국에 처음으로 작품을 선보이게 되었다. Go Suga (b. 1980) is a Japanese artist who lives in Australia. When he was young, he moved to Australia. He graduated from TAFE institute majored in Graphic design, and works for artmaking after his graduation. Gold Coast, Australia is a resort place where international travelers and Australian local people visit for a rest and leisure with golden beach. Through his painting, Go talks about his nature, environment, and people around him. Enjoying the surf, the beautiful beach and sun become essential elements for Go’s painting. He is working in 2 different styles, one is on the bright side of his life, and the other is on the dark side. Go started to be a finalist of Gold Coast Cultural Precinct Design Competition, also received Moreton Bay Region Art Awards, Strathpine Community Centre, and Clayton Utz Art Awards, among others, winning several design awards. He exhibited solo shows and group shows in Austrailia, New York, and Berlin. This exhibition is the first step to Asia as well as to Korea. |
